We just released Biocatalyst for Ossan Jam and Fuck Capitalism Jam 2024! It’s been such a blast working on this game and we sincerely hope you all will enjoy!

I (renbie) was so honored to work with the amazingly talented Ghooost on this little vn; their art is truly the star of the show. They were able to capture the PC-98 aesthetic we wanted to go for perfectly! Additionally, I could not have written the story without them, as the premise and characters were ideas they had while we were brainstorming. I was so lucky to find someone else out there with a massive love for retro pixel art aesthetics and body horror!

Achieving all of the things I wanted to accomplish in this game in just a month was definitely a challenge, but I’m so glad I pushed myself! Learning the basics of Unity to compose 3d backgrounds and creating point-and-click gameplay was a lot of fun and something I want to continue to develop. I also hope you all enjoy the story; I had a tough time trying to avoid all the typical clichés as I’ve never written a ghost story before, but I had a lot of fun trying to come up with some pretty brutal descriptions haha.

Ghooost here! Super grateful to renbie for making this with me, and to you the player for playing!! This is my first actual game + game jam… omg… I knew about Ossan Jam since last year and joined this year on a complete whim, so I’m really glad to have found someone who could work with ren'py! I feel like I learned a lot on the art side of things. The time limit managed to be both harder and not as hard as I thought it would be simultaneously. I hope you all enjoy(ed)!!!!

Character facts: James is the youngest at around 50 while Dennis is 58. Kazuki is balding and Dennis has a widening hair-parting.
